Welcome to the new section of this website, all about education. I started out as a food blogger but as my enthusiasm for that waned, and my interest into my day job increased, I decided that my blog should better reflect who I am and the things I do - mostly teach all day, then come home and cook.
So this part of my blog is dedicated to the other part of my life that gets me up in the morning - teaching!
It's going to be funny things that happen in the classroom, thoughts about education in general, as well as strategies I'm trying, new approaches to certain things, run downs of what I do during the day, hint, tips and info on PDs that I go to and what I learnt. This is made by a teacher, for teachers. I hope to inspire, give you ideas, get some ideas, and document the things I'm doing for myself, and others.
I teach in a high school (as of 2015, yr 7-12) in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. I teach Society and Environment (history/geography/politics) and Science to lower school classes, and Psychology in upper school. I'm really interested in using technology in the classroom, positive psychology, and cooperative learning strategies to get the best out of the kids, and see them evolve from whiney school haters to engaged, lifelong and 21st century learners.
