That was the rule we followed during our 5 days in Paris. We followed that rule with gusto, but we walked a lot. One of the days we did a half marathon. Of course, it had pastry, lunch and wine stops in between. This is the only kind of marathon I will do.
Seriously, if you're a paleo freak or you're a self diagnosed glutard or you're just like, so not into carbs then don't go to Paris. I mean, still go. But you're missing out. France = carbs. Just deal with that and get around it.
The picture above? Kouign-amann.
Fuck they're good. We got one every time we saw them. Piggies I know. You won't care when you're eating this flakey, chewy, buttery hunk of caramel and pastry. I think they're tricky to make... So I commented on Emmanuel Mollois' IG page asking him to make some, cos I need these in my life.
He didn't write back.
This was a standard breakfast from most places we went to. A crappy coffee, juice, bread, croissant and butter/jam. Unless you go one up and get the bowls of coffee or hot chocolate.
It's important to fit in.
Check out my first meal in Montmartre here - Bistro lunches are good lunches.
